Welcome to Pack 790! We’re chartered by Spring Garden Elementary’s PTA to run an engaging scouting program for K-5 students in the Hampstead area.

Cub Scouting is fun for the whole family.  In Scouting, boys  start with their best right now selves and grow into their very best future selves. It’s fun, hands-on learning and achievement that puts kids in the middle of the action and prepares them for today – and for life.

Adventure

Scouting is built on a foundation of outdoors adventure. By teaching the scouts to reach beyond the walls of their classrooms, homes and sports fields we expand their worlds and teach them self-confidence and self-reliance.

In addition to camping with the pack twice each year, your Scout will learn more about the environment through educational outdoor hikes, wildlife encounters, and useful skills like knot tying, orienteering, astronomy and first aid.

Fun

“Scouting is a Game with a Purpose” – Lord Baden-Powell

Through games, their camaraderie with their peers, and eye-opening experiences, Scouting was designed to be Fun for the scout and the whole family.

As a scout in Pack 790 your scout will build and race Pinewood Derby Cars, raingutter regatta boats, model rockets, play games, act in goofy skits, sing silly songs, and spend quality time with their friends. Fun is an important cornerstone of Cub Scouting.

Citizenship

Scouting teaches the value of being a servant and contributing to your community, your country and your world. As a member of the Spring Garden Elementary school community we run multiple projects along with the school such as trail cleanup, weeding of the school flower beds, and stocking a resource cabinet with school supplies.

Reverence to the United States America runs through the entire scouting program. The Boy Scouts of America is one of the only programs that teach how to properly raise, lower, display, fold and respect the America flag.
